J&M’s Gassaway Mansion Wedding in Greenville, SC

There is something very special about a classic, southern mansion wedding day. Although these two were already technically married and this day was for their vow renewals, this was also as if it was their wedding day. You see, many years ago, we had a little pandemic called COVID sweep through this country. And yes, it affected thousands if not hundreds of thousands of weddings. Millions? Probably. Joy and Michael’s big day was one of them. Yet, they got married anyways, in front of their closest family and friends and decided to throw a huge party in the future for all of their family and friends. They chose the historical Gassaway Mansion, built in 1919 in Greenville, South Carolina. A Gassaway Mansion wedding is something very uniquely Southern. It has all of the architectural staples of its era and the warm, South Carolina wedding really lends itself to these features. Stills by Leggybird Photography

Gassaway Mansion South Carolina Wedding Ceremony

To start the day at the Mansion, Joy got into her dress surrounded by her bridesmaids and her mom. After, we had a very emotional First Look between her and Michael, who were bathed in beautiful natural light through the large glass windows. Gassaway Mansion weddings must always feel like a fairy tale for a bride on her wedding day.

They wanted to take advantage of this natural light and we went outside to capture some amazing portraits of them, for both video and photo.

The Ceremony was just absolutely gorgeous and decked out in beautiful florals around the doorway behind them. Joy shared one of our all time favorite vows, quoting Harry Potter in the process. Don’t believe me? Then go watch the film at the top of this post!

They ended up dancing the night away in what was a crazy fun reception. Gassaway Mansion provided the florals AND the dinner which was sooooo good. The florals alone speak for themselves. Don’t hesitate to consider Gassaway Mansion if you are thinking of getting married in South Carolina.
